The awful truth about engineers

yay, We rock

Had you ever considered in becoming an engineer? Was your desire when you were a kid to become an engineer?

Well, Here is a little list of things I think you rarely (or never) you will hear from an engineer:
  • Im in my 20's and I have a girlfriend.
  • I love to use a necktie.
  • Everybody understands me.
  • I get laid 4-5 times a week.
  • I love to fix things.
  • I dont use geek stuff.
  • When I see a girl or some techie stuff, I choose the girl.
  • Im in my 30's and I still have a girlfriend.
  • You are smarter than me.
  • I shouldnt be an engineer.
  • Im surrounded by smart people.
  • I love when people ask me to solve their tech problems.
  • Im in my 40's and I finally have a girlfriend.
And why do I say or believe this, well, thats because I think as an Engineer its too dificult to see the world in a normal and usual way (and thats the reason why gettin a girlfriend its ssssoooo dificult).

As an Engineer, nobody sees you in a normal way. (And I presumme you thought my first reason was rude).

I am a thechie and sometimes people takes me as a geek. (I guess that makes me love technology all over women, but let me tell you, when technology fails, I love women too!!)

When things go bad, as engineers we try to fix it! When things go ok, Why try to fix it anyway. When we dont know if things go good or bad, we try to blame somebody else (usually our coworker who in fact isnt an engineer).

And finally, let me say that: I am a Systems Engineer! and that makes me someone very special.

Were you told about this awful truth when you were a kid?? Do you consider it is a truth or it is a coincidence and this things happens just to me?

i'm an engineer myself. sometimes it sucks with the irregular working hours. people blame u when the things goes wrong even though it might not be your faults etc.

engineering can be tough as one must have good problem solving skills that are not taught in school or from any books, its experiences.
