Checking the NewType-USA website there is a very surprising and disturbing notice for all of us anime fans: Newtype USA february issue will be the last issue.
I dont know you guys, but i kinda saw how the magazine grow up since the begining (it was nov. 2002). Thru years, I saw in the website all the covers in every month and now it is a cold news to see the February 2008 cover as the last cover they released.
For every anime fan, Newtype USA, was the best magazine featuring news in the anime, manga, gaming, filming context from the japanese original Newtype Magazine. It was a cool extra feature the preview DVD the magazine gave as bonus in every issue.
Im glad to be the happy owner of a part of Newtype USA history. Last year I bought the January 2007 issue of the magazine although now looking the news I would have liked to be more.
Now I wonder, what will happen with the anime magazine industry? What magazine could replace Newtype USA magazine for the rest of us?
