Habemus DSLR

I buy it! Im now the happy owner of a Canon EOS Rebel XS. ^^

After a lot of considerations and thinking. I decided to buy the XS camera kit.

After a lot of searching in the cloud and reading, I was very interested in the Canon EOS XSi since Im a regular and satisfied Canon user. Previously was my intention to buy a Nikon camera for a change, but I think Im not that adventurous.

Went to some local stores and for my surprise it wasnt available for sale in any store, not because it wasnt in great demand but in fact because almost no one buys that model of camera. As you can imagine, photography is a hobby not widely shared in here.

The model they had available was the XS at an affordable price, but higher than the suggested price at the official site. The XS is very similar to XSi but with a couple of minor options.

When I asked about the Nikon cameras, only the D60 was available, but no lenses accesories around if I decided to choose that brandname, so I could get the lenses only in online stores.

Due Im still a beginner I didnt wanted to buy a prosumer camera with a lot of features that I dont know if Im gonna use it. Im not interested in video capabilities, RAW and megapixeles at the moment.

The kit includes user manuals (English and Spanish), 18-55mm lens, neck strap, battery with charger.

The user manual that Im reading at the moment. The first pictures that Im taking with the camera and they are quite good.

Kagami aproves the new acquisition.

Congrats!!! If it's not much trouble, in what store did you purchase (brand only, thanks). I've been thinking of buying one for me, but i haven't really decided yet. (I'm from Guatemala too, by the way)

congrats on your purchase ^^

the 18-55 kit lens you got is the IS version, right? the IS version is the most recent, and, of course, has IS, which is a great feature ^^

Cool, that's a good place to start. There's a reason the Rebel is the most popular DSLR in existence xD

The 18-55 IS is a good lens to learn on and when you think you need better, there are many expensive L lenses to tempt you xD. Have fun with your new photo gear!

@GuxAdolfo: sure. Lo compre en PhotoLab, aunque en Fujifilm venden camaras Nikon.

@Meronpan: Thanks. Lens is the IS version. I like the lenses available for my camera booklet.

@anonymous_object: Im planning to take a lot of pics with my new camera ^^

Kagami approves and I approve as well. A very good camera u got there and since u put a lot of effort in getting the best one, I cannot see why u will not be happy about it. :)

I'm a camera noob so maybe u can teach me a few things. ;)
