This because I had recently rewatched Cyberteam in Akihabara, 2011 summer vacations and decided to do a post about it (although I havent entirely watched MSN but I kwow many people had).
Ruri Hoshino: Ruri is a child prodigy and somewhat distant from the rest of the Nadesico crew. She keeps the ship's computer running and ussually asks numerous questions about society and human interaction.
Tsubame Otorii: a mostly stoic girl with a very twisted view on friendship and no concept of family.The similarities: Besides the look alike both characters have, thats almost same age, hair color and style and eyes, Tsubame and Ruri are introverted yet very smart girls.
I havent watched Martian Successor Nadesico yet, but maybe I will. Have you watched both anime shows and agree with the look alike??

I've only seen MSN, but the characters do look alike.
Some older anime do seem to follow certain art styles and character personalities are reused a lot.

Anyways, I havent seen Cyberteam yet, but I've seen Nadesico, and its fucking awesome. You should watch it!
